Kinds of Boom Lifts or Construction Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of machine that allows personnel to carry out jobs without having to construct a scaffolding. They are utilized to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common equipment found in warehouse and factory settings as well.
Normally, construction lifts offer powered and wheeled bases which are capable of driving to the work place and have a platform on them that is responsible for lifting workers. There are many various types of lifts and every one is suitable to different tasks and environment.
Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks or cherry pickers, are built with a long boom that has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where an employee can stand. Commonly, bucket trucks are used by landscapers and by utility workers. Landscapers normally use these kinds of machinery to cut trees.
Each and every bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a regular truck, which enables these vehicles to move fast on normal roads. In addition, this increases the area which this machine could service effectively. This is specially important for power companies. Like for example, many of these businesses use cherry pickers to lift employees up so they can work on and reach transmission lines. The buckets have to be checked frequently and insulated properly as they are working close to possible shock hazards.
Articulated boom lifts are also called "knuckle lifts", and have a work platform that is mounted on an arm which could bend so as to reach around obstacles. The base of the lift includes a turntable and is capable of turning the lift in a complete circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels also for extra mobility.
Typically, the articulated boom lift is used for landscaping projects but is also handy for maintenance work on projects which are already completed. Projects which do not require easy access directly below the jobsite. These lifts could be used to repair piping or exterior electrical work, as well as difficult to clean areas. Normally knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the boom extended.
