Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They can run using gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the machinery needs to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for example: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
