Narrow aisle forklifts
Narrow aisle forklifts are usually utilized in warehousing operations. These types of forklifts are essential machines within the industry as their small size and excellent maneuverability enable warehouses to make the most of storing space. They can easily go around aisles as narrow as 1.8 meters wide, while typical lift trucks need at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two types are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The former need 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, whereas the second could function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The narrow aisle forklift design features forks that are positioned at right angles to the truck body. The trucks do not have to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This particular design feature is the key to their suitability for limited spaces.
To make certain that the forklift is moving in a straight line down the aisle, several very narrow aisle forklifts consist of optical or wire systems. That way, the operator can concentrate more on the placement and the picking of loads.
The cushion tires which come with these types of lifts are made of solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on smooth, paved surfaces and concrete floors. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors suited for use within indoor environments. Propane-powered versions are available also.
