Rough Terrain Forklift
The rough terrain forklift is recommended for applications at construction sites and other locations where there is no paved surface. This kind of forklift is utilized to transport materials around lumberyards.

These forklifts are meant for rough terrain. However, the machinery is top heavy and has to be handled carefully in rough locations. The machinery must be level with all tires on the ground when lifting.

Steering is more difficult at faster speeds. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration does not set speed restrictions on forklifts. Nonetheless, drivers are responsible for operating forklifts at a safe speed, specially if turning and driving on rough terrain.

To prevent a tip over, never lift a load whilst operating on an incline. The load must be on the uphill side of the machinery when driving up a slope. If driving down an incline, backing down is a good safety practice.
