Gradall Aerial Lifts

Gradall Aerial Lifts

Classifications of Scissor Lifts & Aerial Lift Platforms
Scissor lifts are made of a series of crisscrossed steel arms, connected to make an X pattern. When the crisscrossed arms are extended, the platform is vertically raised. There are support railings along the lifting mechanism's edges to be able to keep the employees safe and help to secure their tools.

The scissor lift has a low profile, best suited for smooth surfaces such as hard dirt surfaces, concrete and pavement. These equipment use either an electric motor or a combustion engine in order to move the lift and power the lifting mechanism. The operator would need to move the lift itself if she or he has to travel horizontally, since the lift mechanism just operates the lift vertically.

Rough Terrain Scissor Lift
Rough terrain scissor lifts use the same lifting technology as a typical scissor lift. The main difference is that the rough terrain units feature a different base which is specifically made for surfaces that are uneven. These models also offer higher ground clearance and oversized all terrain tires. The rough terrain scissor lifts use 4-wheel drive in order to navigate through muddy and difficult terrain without problems.

Telescopic Boom Lift
Telescopic booms are designed to be raised both diagonally and vertically. This model has a small work platform that houses controls to be able to control the boom. The controls work with a combustion engine in order to power the hydraulics that power the boom and move the lift. The telescopic boom lift is an independent lift model and has off-road capable tires.

Articulating Boom Lift
The articulating boom lift features 2 telescopic booms which are attached with a moving elbow mechanism. This lifting machine has a bucket or a small work platform which is outfitted with hand controls in order to control the boom. These are stand-alone lifts that are powered by a combustion engine. Articulating boom lifts are available with either off-road or hard surface tires. These lifts are made to be able to reach over top of and on top of buildings.

Aerial Mast Lift
In order to lift a work platform vertically into the air, the aerial mast lift utilizes a telescopic mast. The lift is normally powered pneumatically or electrically and are self-propelled units. These machinery provide an ideal solution for working in high racks within narrow warehouse aisles. It is really important to remember that aerial mast lifts are not recommended for off-road use and are limited to vertical movement.
