Clark Counterbalance Forklifts
The forklift is a material handling equipment utilized to lift and move loads from one place to another. Each and every part of a forklift has a specific function. Different components can be utilized to move the load either horizontally or vertically.
The forklift mast refers to all the components that lift and lower the load. There are different types of masts for raising loads to various heights: quad, simplex, duplex and triplex.
There are four different ways you can power a forklift: electric, gas, propane and diesel. The battery is situated inside the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is located on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is underneath the rear of the truck.
The forklift cab is located in the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all situated within the cab.
The frame of the truck carries all the largest parts of the forklift, like the counterweights, that are situated at the rear to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
